How to regain control of CentOS if single user mode doesn't help?

Hello,
after restarting a server,
it didn't start and restarting in single user mode didn't help. the server reports that several low level services start and stops after that so how to regain control of the machine?

this is nothing to to do with LFS, and will be moved shortly.

You need to give us a LOT more information. Actual errors and descriptions. "it didn't help" is not useful.
