How To Install SuSe 9 via FTP

Does anyone know how to install SuSe 9 via ftp? I installed 8.2 this way, but swear I downloaded a bootable ISO to get the installation started. I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Cheers :O)

ftp install

hey Rioch!!

I tryed it too, documentation about FTP install:

README.FTP

conclusion:
make a boot CD, then install directly from ftp by intering:

linux install=ftp://[IP-ADRES]/pub/suse/i386/9.0

(dependant on youre choice for a mirror!)

But the, a installation programme starts. There i encounter a problem.
Because my setup can't find the needed packages. So don't I. So i'm afraid the ftp install is not yet complete...

grtz.!

a working mirror:

ftp://ftp.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.sus...suse/i386/9.0/

Hey jasperlevink, thanks for the mirror; I am installing it from the US and it's quite fast.

I have mirrored a copy of the ftp site on one of my local machines to do an ftp install...

i get the installer to load and it loads all the drivers but then it says it can't read the package list? I can't seem to find what i am missing?

nevermind...it appears the problem occurs if the mirror isn't compeletly updated and some of the files are missing?

guess i will just have to wait for it to complete.
