Hello,

There is no easy way to create your own distro. I highly recommend LFS for anyone who wants to build their own distro; I also highly recommend that you read up about it, since LFS is the best way to go for someone who doesn't have that much experience with doing so. You can also check out Fedora Spins, which you can create your own also. Check it out here - http://spins.fedoraproject.org/support

Cheers,

Josh

Hello,

If linux distro is for embedded system, you could use PTXDIST.

Best regards.

Depends on what you mean with fully customized. If you are able to set up a Debian or Ubuntu system that it fits your needs, you can go the easy way and use live-build or Remastersys to make an ISO of it, so that you have your own re-spin.
If it is more than that you have do it the hard way, either LFS or you use a distro building tool like Rock Linux or the T2 SDE.

I just checked on their site, and it hasn't been touched in years.

Distrowatch lists it as dormant, nonetheless it shows a snapshot from 2011/07/27, but with outdated software versions. So I would think that it is somewhat dead.
Anyways, one can still use T2 SDE (it is a fork of Rock, AFAIK), it is still developed and has up to date software.
