How long and complex is the quick way to install gentoo?
I was thinking of installing gentoo on the quickest way (cant remember what its called stage1 2 or 3 cant remember!) i was wondering how long and hard to install is it? thanks all who reply

all of this IMO :
stage 3 is the one you want if you want the quickest option. difficulty: they are all about the same. gentoo is easy to install, read instructions, type command. length depends on your machine and how fast you read/type. stage 3's generally don't take too long ( it uses precompiled packages for the base). also, your network connection comes into play a little when syncing portage (unless you use a snapshot, but sooner or later you will want to sync before using portage). |
A stage 3 with GRP is the fastest install/post install...... (can comfortably be done (with "post install") within 1.5-2 hours when you know what you're doing) - another alternative is a straight stage 3 pulling in a variety of elements from the Net during the install - this takes a little longer though ("_I" has noted some of the factors above).

it took me about a day with stage 3. just follow the instructions.
