how can i get the linux 2.6.8.1.10mdk kernel source?


i have a mandrake 10.1 intalled on my pc.
so i want to configure my connection
i faced a problem which is a message that tells
kernel source not found ,while cofiguring the modem driver
plz help me to get it?either a from a website or in my linux if it is hidden.

use your package manager and download 'kernel-sources'

plz from which website can i download it?

i do not have the rpm CD

NB:i do not yet have connection on my linux

this is just one location. search elsewhere if the connection is too slow.

first of all thank u.

i want just to be sure if the version u gave me does not affect: kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-12mdk.i586.rpm.

but me i have on my linux: kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-10mdk

so will be there a pblm when installing kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-12mdk.i586.rpm.

nb:whene i used the package manager to install the kernel i found :
kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-10mdk.i586.rpm.

and

kernel-source-2.6-2.6.8.1-10mdk.rpm.

so which one is covenient?

use the one that matches your running kernel, the ...10mdk one. good luck

i installed the kernel-source-2.6.8-12mdk.i586.rpm.

i configured my lilo ,now i can choose from lilo which kernel i want to boot with.

all that was for installing my connection using the SAGEM FAST800 modem

now i set the connection up.
