Hindi linux on computer with 64MB ram

i want to install a hindi linux system with GUI on a HP Pavilion with an AMD k62 550MHz and 64 MB ram. Any suggestions?

You can try to donwload and install a "thin" linux distribution such as "Damn small Linux" (searcg on google) and then use a "thin" desktop environment such as xfce as your default dektop environment.. (I dont think thin desktop environments such as ICEWM etc are trasnlated into Hindi)

I was working on upgrading the xfce Hindi translations to the latest version. Let me (vivek dot rai AT gmail dot com) know if you need the .po files and I can mail them to you.

You will still need to create a larger swap partition (i would say, go for 246M or more) to be able to work with applications such as firefox browser, openoffice etc.

Frankly, the best way to use linux in Hindi is with KDE or gnome, so maybe you should just consider buying a little bit more RAM (400-500 rupees only), your system would run much faster, and you would have a better experience overall.
