Head to head: Fedora 23 vs openSUSE 42.1

Well both Fedora 23 and openSUSE 42.1 come out on the same day, this rarely happens so i will be comparing both releases comparing what each distro offers and what one is better in the end, sure Fedora 23 will have the much shorter lifespan but it still offers a 32bit version so pros and cons for both will be noted.
I will install openSUSE first as I really hate anaconda as installer, I wont be doing Ubuntu again until 16.04 probably the last buntu I will use as its going down in flames once they go use Unity 8, Mir and abandon debian

This will be a fun side experiment for me, along side the windows 10 challenge which I am belaying a week as the week I wanted to do it (last week into halloween) I got sick so next week I will do it....
I did intend to do windows 10 till tomorrow but no sick week came in.

Takes a while to get used to distro's. And they change often once you do get used to them.

Actually I know my way around with both, used one or the other off and on over my 9 year linux tenure.
Really the only thing different about the two is the command line backends, but thats about it.
Both offer gnome and KDE editions, both offer a package installer of some sort, nothing new really.
Heck dnf is the only thing different here in fedora but its command line is pretty much the same as yum

Well hate to say it but seems like Fedora 23 is the better of the two, I am having issues all over the place with openSUSE.
But I will give both a few days before writing up a review as things are messy on fedora as well in some areas.
But its bad enough that I am using windows 10 right now, yipes.

remember SUSE is very VERY VERY different than fedora

suse is a rpm distro but they do things there OWN way

fedora is VERY terminal centric
( way easier to install software using dnf- or the old yum)

SUSE is VERY GUI centric
as in it is NORMALLY way easier to NOT!!! use "zypper"
and use the yast GUI instead

think of apples VS oranges

both are fruit BUT......

and with suse the LACK of documentation on the multimedia is to NOT get hit with DMCA problems

suse can not officially tell you how to install things that are covered under usa copyright and patent
( or CR and patent in other countries )

Well its official: openSUSE 42.1 is the looser
Why you you may ask? I cant use my goddamned wireless printer, its not working in openSUSE but is picked up instantly in fedora.
What a shame, I have to wait three years if I before I give opensuse another go, it just sucks too bad.

That may well only be a simple firewall issue at play.
