Have to run dhcpcd every start up.


Hello, im running gentoo and every start up i have to run dhcpcd to get my internet running can i add this command to the boot up or something??

Hey, i get a error * /sbin/rc-update: /etc/init.d/dhcpcd not found; aborting. when i run tht command.

are you sure dhcpcd is emerged?

try emerge -p dhcpcd and see if anything is missing.
It's also possible if you mix stable with testing that there's a conflict that needs addressing. By default dhcpcd should run at boot with no user intervention after it's emerged. Look for /etc/conf.d/dhcpcd and see if anything in that config file looks wrong as well.
