Guesstimate: Which has more users, Debian or openSUSE?

Hey. As the thread states.

Which would you say has more users, Debian, or openSUSE?

Regards,

I would guess Debian. Do I win a prize if I'm right?

Probably Debian since it's often used in professional applications for servers while openSUSE is really more of a desktop OS (IMO). Not really sure I understand the point of the question though...

this is an "apples and oranges" question

Debian and OpenSUSE have very DIFFERENT user base and target user

a closer one
a "granny Smith" VS "Red Delicious"
a apple VS apple

would be Debian VS RHEL

+ the other Debian forum - 760 = 34,712.
So we now have the total number of people who have registered on fora and:
Are still there.
Have left the fora and still use those distributions.
Have left the fora and no longer use the distributions.
Multiple accounts registered to the same people.
No record of the thousands of users who have never registered with the fora.

Suse and Opensuse are used in many commercial instances. HP and other big companies offer Suse. The question isn't really complete unless Suse is included.

I'm registered at the Debian forum: I used it (very briefly) when I was (a bit) younger and (a lot) more foolish.

The http://distrowatch.com/ page hit ranking has:

Code:
 	Debian 1705
 	openSUSE 1151
if that means anything. Mint is #1.

I've used it also but stopped as I was given far more useful answers on here. I've found the Debian IRC channels helpful though.

A lot more foolish? Cannot argue with that, although the big Debian forum can be a good source of entertainment. The smaller forum is better quality, but not much activity. I am foolish enough to participate on both.

Thanks for your input, guys. I'm still trying to figure out the popularity of some distros, as everything behind Ubuntu is a bit vague...or is it somehow even?

FWIW, I use both (and I guess a lot of people too). Though to be honest, I use mostly Debian.
