groupwise messenger on FC5

I tried 4 ways to install groupwise messenger on FC5.

[1] Gaim 1.5 - comes up with an error saying SSL is not enabled.

[2] Wine - installing the Windows version works fine but Wine crashes when I try to chat with someone.

[3] tried to install "nvlmsgr.bin" but it exits with an error

[4] lastly, I found and installed an RPM which installed fine but when I try to login it says - SSL not enabled

Now, I don't have SSL enabled on the server but Windows groupwise messengers are working fine.

Is there any way to get it working under Linux without SSL or any other option?

How did you install GAIM?
I run FC5 & installed GAIM via yum & it's worked perfectly.
If you haven't already tried it, remove the old GAIM & anything else you've installed that didn't work then try to install via yum.

i removed the old gaim, installed the new one via yum. it's version is:
gaim-1.5.0-16.fc5. it still says "Unable to make SSL connection to the
server" I cannot see where I can turn off that SSL connection thing!

Do you have openssl installed?

Try :
Code:
yum install openssl openssl-devel
