Good Distro For Newer Laptop

I have a Compaq Laptop, with a 15.4" widescreen, I hate having xp on it because the battery life is crap (ie. it lasts less than 1 hour on battery), one of my mates uses Ubuntu on his laptop and with the same battery he gets about 2 hours, i want something that will allow me to use my wireless card, and bluetooth, but also will give me excellent battery life, and also i would like to be able to play some good racing games, and also it has a amd64 dual core processor

Your choice of distro will end up being what you like the look and feel of I suspect. I use Slackware on a Toshiba Satellite A-135 and have no problems with it. Directly to your issues regarding power consumption I have not yet set up any specific to increase my battery life and I get about two hours on a full charge with my machine as it is. Just a stock Slackware 12.1 install.

I've heard (though I haven't tested it) that Sabayon has good bluetooth support. As for your wireless card, we need to know more about that. I know Ark Linux works pretty well with wireless (even has WPA supplicant for WPA encryption).
