gnome login screen not showing up

I'm using kali linux and when i boot up the gnome login screen doesnt show up instead tty1 shows up. So, I have to login and start gdm.service from the terminal to start up the gui. How do I get gnome to start from boot ?

If you're starting it on boot rather than it autostarting, do something like a "systemctl enable gdm.service" and reboot. If it still doesn't come on automatically, do a "systemctl status gdm.service" (and post the results if in error).

You may have to modify the commands a bit, I'm not much of a systemd user and haven't used Gnome since 2.x..
