Most likely because KMPlayer cant play Dvd's? Because its broken?

Go get the lastest mplayer.. or the latest zine, ogle. And try playing it them.
Dont forget to use hdparm to turn on dma

I just tried a dvd on kmplayer and it worked. I'm also using SuSE 8.2 but I also have xine installed with all of the plugins, dvdcss, etc.

Type 'locate dvd' in your terminal and see if you have all of these files:

/usr/bin/dvdcss_server
/usr/include/dvdcss
/usr/include/dvdcss/dvdcss.h
/usr/lib/libdvdcss.a
/usr/lib/libdvdcss.la
/usr/lib/libdvdcss.so
/usr/lib/libdvdcss.so.2
/usr/lib/libdvdcss.so.2.0.6
/usr/lib/libdvdnav.so.1
/usr/lib/libdvdnav.so.1.0.0
/usr/lib/libdvdread.so.2
/usr/lib/libdvdread.so.2.0.2

If you have the cd's for 8.2, install the findutils rpm. If you don't, go to rpmfind.net and look for the one for SuSE 8.2

I use Xine gmplayer or videolan u might wanna try xine and use apt to install it that would save u time to ,other wise u keep going though packages .Go here cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br four the dvdcss go http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/ and http://www.usr-local-bin.org/apt.php fore some help on apt or do it the normal way and download packages from http://packman.links2linux.de/ . Might want to run the player you are using now from a shell to see what error msg it puts out . I hope this helps a bit .
