Gentoo on Vmware - adsl-start
I've compiled and installed Gentoo perfectly on my vmware (v4.02). Trouble is I can't dial out on my adsl-start!
My error:
root@jim:~# adsl-start
................TIMED OUT
/usr/sbin/adsl-start: line 191: 1438 Terminated $CONNECT "$@" >/dev/null 2>&1
root@jim:~# adsl-status
adsl-status: Link is down (can't read pppoe PID file /var/run/pppoe.conf-adsl.pid.pppoe)
root@jim:~# adsl-connect
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Connection terminated.
pppoe: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1
my ifconfig works perfectly, displays out my current eth0 settings. I can ping and do everything else, dhcp...etc. except dial out using adsl-setup.
Just incase you think its vmware network settings, i've had it set to bridged.
PLEASE HELP, been doing this for the past 5 days straight
