galeon needs mozilla, each release of galeon has VERY strict moz version requirements. as for gtk... well make sure you have that installed properly... maybe it's not there if you only have gnome2 installed and not gnome1?

Acid - the problem is: i did emerge galeon which is as i understand it supposed to install the newest version of galeon available(1.2.5).
That gives me an error like mozilla 1.0-rc3 not available. It seems that this mozversion is masked. So i went to galeon 1.2.1 thats supposed to compile with moz 1.0 and the moz 1.0 part went fine. When i try to compile galeon after that i get some errors about missing dependencies. The dependencies are all there (in my filesystem) - only trouble as far as i can see right now is that i got gtk2 and gnome2 installed and i can't find any info anywhere whether that is compatible with galeon plus i cannot install gnome 1.4 or any gtk1.2version with gentoo. Its like going in circles.Anywyay this is only for fun i'll stick to debian for real stuff.
