gentoo mouse problem


when i run cat mice to setup mouise for X , it said cat : mice : command not found
and in /dev there dont hv a dir call input.....

this kernel is compiled by myself instead of using genkernel, but before i use genkernel it work with mouse.....

i sure i hv finish the setting in the input core device and hv select mouse already......... how can i solve it?

my mouse is a USB logitech optical mouse..
