this should have been covered by a requirement in the ebuild, but you just need to emerge orbit. i *think* that it should just be called "orbit" but try "emerge -s orbit" to find the right candidate.

Yeah, I've tried emerging Orbit and it installs cleanly. However, it doesn't install my ORBit-2.0.pc file I need. When I compile gconf, I still get the following:
checking for gmodule-2.0 >= 2.0.1 gobject-2.0 >= 2.0.1 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.4.0... Package ORBit-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `ORBit-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'ORBit-2.0' found
configure: error: Library requirements (gmodule-2.0 >= 2.0.1 gobject-2.0 >= 2.0.1 ORBit-2.0 >= 2.4.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.

/usr/lib/pkgconfig contains ORBit-idl-2.0.pc, but not ORBit-2.0.pc. How do I get a shiny new ORBit-2.0.pc in there?
