Game Server Distro -- Speed Demon

Yes yes, I realize this is subjective to a point. And that this is my first post. However, I'm in a bit of a bind. I don't have enough time to go play with all the distros (oh how I'd love to do that and still be able to pay the rent...) but I'm thinking of setting up a Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat server -- The mother of all resource/bandwidth hogs. Bandwidth isn't an issue. LANs are wonderful for that... Also, I'll probably start running it on a 1.0Ghz Athlon T-bird with 768MB of PC133. So, which distro do you personally feel BF42 server would run the most efficently on?

I'd make this a poll, but like I said, I'm new.

You're going to want a fast distro, so you're best bet is to probably go with either gentoo or slackware.

In the end, I don't think it would matter that much anyway.

Use Arch. It's optimized for i686 architeicture. It's unbelievable how fast this baby screams. It's small and stable too. Not very hard to set up either. Just be patient, know your command line, and it's faster than slack or gentoo.
