Firefox in Fedora 15 cannot find server

I can ping google.com, and use yum, so I know that my internet access is there. But when I bring Firefox up under Fedora 15 (just installed) it says server not found when I do a URL of "google.com". My /etc/resolv.conf file has "nameserver=192.168.1.254" in it, which is the DNS URL that my Windows machine shows that I am using with my router.

Hi there,

It appears that it has something to do with proxy setting in Firefox.

Do you have any proxy configured? If yes, then open firefox and go to EDIT | PREFERENCES | SETTINGS | NETWORK and see if that proxy is mentioned there or not.

If you do not use proxy then change the Firefox setting to not to use proxy i.e. checkbox "NO PROXY"

It might be possible that you have got a corrupt profile.

Try it with a different user account or a test account and see if that works.
