emerge system fails on gentoo install, seven files won't download

I'm installing gentoo linux, however, when I emerge system, it says this:

Cannot download (some directory)/groff/groff-1.1i.1-r4.ebuild
Aborting

And, when I "emerge --fetchonly system", it says that it can't downlaod these files, and it continues to the next ones

groff-1.18.1-r4.ebuild
db-4.1.25-r1-r3.ebuild
rsync-2.6.0-r3.ebuild
pam-0.77.ebuild
hdparm-5.4.ebuild
nconpress-2.4.2.ebuild
bin86-0.16.0.ebuild

Anyhoo, is there any way I can download them? perhaps I should mirrorselect again? For any of the files, it always hits like three or four bad servers before it downloads, either one doesn't have the files, or it won't connect or something.

I've already completed the bootstrap, and I am progressing from stage2 to stage3

my march is athlon-tbird, my cpu is i686, and I have 256 MB of SDRAM

i got that problem... waited a few hours, emerge sync'ed and it went away.
it just the server having some trouble...

dont run the server thing again, it will prob jyst decide to use the server you are using now. look up a gentoo mirror, and add it to /etc/make.conf with nano.

Mirrorselect will choose the best (I'm assuming fasters mirrors) to download from. If you couldn't download from any of the servers, then there is either a problem with the servers which is usually resolved in a little while, or your network connection is down.

Hmm, for some reason it gave me some overseas servers.... Anyhoo, I went to the gentoo list and picked one that is close to me... Then I simply added that and only that server to /etc/make.conf and ran emerge sync... and now IT WORKS!!!!

HAHA! I've never been so happy about linux!!!!!!!

erm, ok... enough ranting

Anyway, I've got a working console/multiboot using grub!! Next on my list: install KDE... then i'll be really cooking...
