Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Anyhoo, is there any way I can download them? perhaps I should mirrorselect again? For any of the files, it always hits like three or four bad servers before it downloads, either one doesn't have the files, or it won't connect or something.
I've already completed the bootstrap, and I am progressing from stage2 to stage3
my march is athlon-tbird, my cpu is i686, and I have 256 MB of SDRAM
Mirrorselect will choose the best (I'm assuming fasters mirrors) to download from. If you couldn't download from any of the servers, then there is either a problem with the servers which is usually resolved in a little while, or your network connection is down.

Hmm, for some reason it gave me some overseas servers.... Anyhoo, I went to the gentoo list and picked one that is close to me... Then I simply added that and only that server to /etc/make.conf and ran emerge sync... and now IT WORKS!!!!

Anyway, I've got a working console/multiboot using grub!! Next on my list: install KDE... then i'll be really cooking...
