Question Email

Hi everybody!
Using SuSe 7.3, I can't get email to work. I tried kmail. It can fetch email, but I can't send. The message says SMPT failure after trying the command CONNECT.

Also, maybe related, I always get on boot up in the log

e.g.
Mar 2 16:59:13 linux logger Warning wierd character in interface `ppp* (No aliases ,:,! or *)

Anyone know what this means, or what interface is meant, or what I should do to correct this?

Thanks Peter
