Distro recommendation
Hello Everyone
I am just looking for a recommendation for a medium to lightweight distro (1-2GB install size) to install on a 32GB USB drive to use as a traveling OS. I've used Puppy before, but it takes a bit to much time to configure on the road and it is a little limited. I love Slackware but it's too big with the KDE desktop which I want. I have been fiddling with MX today and it looks nice and full featured but I have not been able to set it up to be persistent (saving all my settings and work, though I'm sure my lack of knowledge is also to blame.)
If possible, I'd like it to be persistent right out of the box with no special setting required. Does anyone know of such a distro. I just don't have time to try them all

I did obtain another USB (which was not big enough capacity because I use it for videos and photography, but it was big enough to get MX installed. I did that and used the tools within MX to attempt to install again on the original 32GB drive. Still didn't work. Easy install, but no saving of my work and settings.
I appreciate your help and comments.

No worries. I was hoping the runwiththedolphin video shotgun link would see you through your mistakes.

As it turns out, you were extremely helpful. With your videos I did find a couple of mistakes in my install and why I wasn't getting persistence working. It's all working now so thank you very much. Now to explore and learn.
I've been using Linux for over 20 years, but I don't work in the field so my learning has been slow and sporadic. Couple that with the fact that after turning 70 a couple of years ago I find I struggle learning things a little more than I used to.
Thanks again for your kind assistance.
Bob

I know it says for antiX but the same applies for what you are doing.
