cant seem to get virtualbox to run properly under antix for some reason, the repositories installed but it wont launch.. odd, i may end up going with something else if this continues to be a pain in my rear
edit: i got virtualbox to install, interesting though the one from the package manager didnt work, but the one right off the virtualbox website did.. also, seems antix is using "jessie" repositories now and i was pretty sure i had selected testing.. so i'll need to update the repositories and hopefully prevent further issues

so, im using "antix" now, and i use quotes with that because well.. its not really antix anymore, seemingly this version of the distro was created when "jessie" was in testing so when i selected testing, they gave me jessie which essentially stuck me into "stable".. so i updated all my repositories to straight debian "testing" and updated the system so its now pretty much 100 debian
im running fluxbox right now, got a nice theme going across gtk, fluxbox, and rox, all nice new icons and i must say it looks so much smoother and cleaner than XP ever did (actually reminds me more of how vista looked with the dark theme) and its all very lightweight and runs well on this machine.. however, i just wish there was a bit more customizability to the toolbar as i havent yet figured out how to open the menu to launch applications without right clicking the desktop and there is no "start menu" but other than that im liking it for this old machine and i think i'll keep it
also, ive noticed some packages and dependencies are missing when i try to install a .deb but its not like its that hard to do a yahoo search for the missing package and find a suitable place to manually download and install it (usually off the debian website out of an older repository)
