it is easy, user friendly and similar to windows

only 100MByte and a lot of software on it and to download
it can also run only in live-cd and ram!

My server has those specs. It runs Fedora 11. It would be happy with 13, too. That machine is not THAT old. I am on a 1.3Ghz PIII with 800MB of RAM now, running happily with FC13. (I know Fedora dropped the "core" from their name, but it's still in their package names and various other places, so shut up.)

Based on the previous posts I would suggest Linux Mint 9 (Gnome - 32bit). My PC is really old too and was running terribly with Windows XP, even after I upgraded the RAM to 1 giga (as high as it could get). I switched to the previously mentioned distro and although I knew nothing about Linux before using it I found it very easy to grasp and my PC flies like a rocket. The only thing that I don't like about Gnome is that you can have only 4 keyboard layouts (very annoying if you are multilingual!), but I assume that you won't be needing more in your case...

I agree, KDE is a generally poor choice from both an ease-of-use and a performance point of view. Gnome isn't going to be your friend either; even though I find the layout simple and intuitive, you would have to manually change to a more "Windows-like" look.

I'm thinking LXDE on this one.

Lubuntu and PCLinuxOS LXDE are my two man recommendations. I wouldn't bother with Debian unless you want to put in a lot of time getting the machines in working order.
