distribution to be booted through network (nfs)

HI,

I have currently a x86 based machine (AT8020) that current has a hard drive connected to it and has Montavista embedded linux installed on it. I will remove the hardrive soon and want it to be booted (as is) from a server (that doesn't exist at the moment). Basically I want the distribution to be booted from a server. I've tried to read about this issue but I can't get my head around it. Does anyone have a guide or good reference on how to do it.

Very appreciated.

Indy

Googling turns up these:

http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-mini/NFS-Root.html
Which looks good-ish, but hasn't been updated since 2002

http://aput.net/~jheiss/netboot_linux/
also looks good

I haven't looked into PXE booting that much, but I seem to remember hearing that most of the work was on the server side, and that at the client it was just a bios option.
