Devuan Linux: which Debian release does it use?
I am looking into Devuan Linux. I have read what Distrowatch and Wikipedia say about it, but I haven't figured out which release it's based on, stable or testing. (Sorry, is "release" not the correct term here?) I'd rather use a stable-based release. ...probably just didn't read carefully enough...but the Distrowatch page says Devuan is based on "Debian." Debian what, though? It says Devuan has its own repository. Does that make it irrelevant whether it was originally stable or testing?

This is stated on the Devuan homepage, and reiterated even more clearly on the Devuan Releases page.

Devuan releases follow shortly after Debian, as they have to de-systemd some programs, otherwise, they are the same but for their names.
I'm using Chimaera, which is the stable release.
