Debian: WMaker won't start from x-window-manager
Hey. I've configured x-session-manager to start xdm instead of kdm or gdm, but WindowMaker won't start on top of it, either after log-on, or from a fresh startx, even with x-window-manager pointing to it. I'm running it right now by adding an implicit exec wmaker to /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc but I'd rather do it though the alternatives system. Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem and have a thread "Controlling startx WM selection in Debian Woody" on this forum about it. I think you'll find it works if you execute "xinit wmaker" instead of "startx", but it's not the "right" solution.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by Slackware's simple "xwmconfig" program. |

with the 'exec wmaker' code (and any other stuff you want to start with X). .xsession works just like .xinitrc, but its parsed whether you 'startx' or use a gui login. |
