Crux64 bits will not install .... :-(
Hi Forum
I have downloaded a 64 bits Crux-2.5 from here http://ecarux.de/crux86_64/# Burned a cd with the iso, tried to install the thingie, but after the boot process, when i get to shell, i run fdisk, as well as cfdisk, and it reports no such command... Has this happened to anyone here...? BRGDS Alex |
Ahh, I was wondering when crux went 64 bit..
Isn't that an unofficial build? Crux is for i686 only last time I used it. |
Hi Shylock
Yep, this is unnoficial build from Ecarux, official releases are only 32 bits... I was just about to try this... seems it is similar to setting ARCH, with the difference you have to compile a kernel as soon as you install it... ... well, I had this box catching dust in my office, and was willing to give it a run with crux64... Burned the CD to give it a spin, and it will not (c)fdisk, or setup... :( ...Will try the latest Arch 2009.8 x86_64 release instead... BTW, when are the next releases of Arch ( 2010-xx ) and Slackware scheduled to happen... ? Can Arch beat Slackware boot time with the same kernel on the same hardware...? With Slackware64 current i am having a boot time of 20s... :D and I am now learning to work with GNU-Screen "window-manager" with a "resolution" of 1208x800 ROFL, :) with vertical split patch... Most ppl do not realise that there were computers already when mice ( and i do not mean XFCE... :D ) and M$ came along ... :D BRGDS Alex Edit: one thing I do not like about CLI, is that it will not allow me to have one of these nice wallpapers... like one I have with a Mitsubishi a6m Zero jpg http://www.finalboss.com/galeria/PC/...ters/73316.jpg http://pc.gamespy.com/dor/objects/67...01257733.html# changed for edge detection and enhancement in xv... it is unreal... as wmii or FluxBox wallpaper :D Dai Nippon Teikokku |
