Creating complete new logo and graphics for new distro from PCLinuxOS

Hi,
I have installed PCLinuxOS. Now venturing to create a customized Linux distro. The main requirement is to choose only relevant programs and importantly customize all the graphics like splash screen, boot options screen, login screen , desktop etc. Want to create the screens and not use already available ones.
Is there any help which explains the step by step way of doing this and customizing the distro.

Thanks for help in advance

Regards,

well... first get the draklive-installer from svn, and change the graphics
compile it and remove the other one that comes with it.
then make install

change the background on the system you wish to remaster for every user

then customize the system as you want (edit boot screen with pclinuxos control center, edit a kdm theme from kde-look.org, i havent figured out how to change the GRUB boot menu yet...)

get and remove some programs you want and dont want with synaptic

make sure you have enough hard drive space, (about 5 gigs would be safest) and type in "remasterme" into konsole. this will create the iso image you can burn and use for your customized distribution

if you want a cd, and the file is over 700 megs, remove some programs with synaptic
if you want a dvd, and the file is over 4.7 gigs, (you really dont want one that big,) then remove some packages with synaptic.

remember to delete the old ISO before making a new one.

you can also do this with mandriva or mandrake, if you want

to do it with mandriva, you need to get the mklivecd source code from http://livecd.berlios.de/ with svn or cvs, i cant remember. well after you get it make and make install it

if all goes well, you can make livecds with mandriva and mandrake.
in mandriva and mandrake, there is no remasterme script,
so you can use the mklivecd gui... er... the link i have for it is invalid... ill post again when i find it

Thanks.. for the quick reply. In fact I am sure of how to remaster. Really need guidance on creating and installing the bootsplash , splash, GRUB screen etc. What would help is
1. What all screens/themes need to be changed to give a fully customized look ?
2. What goes in creating this, for eg. a background is only a image file, while the splash is a set of files created by some tool

Appreciate if I could get some help on doing this. Post creation of this, I will remaster.

Thanks,

well I answered my own question and solved it by first creating a guest user account then used a script found on the forums at remastersys that transfers all user settings to all accounts in etc/skell then used remastersys to write the distro worked awesome.
