Conectiva 8?

Anyone here know anything about Conectiva 8? Or even any experience w/ Conectiva at all? I would appreciate any impressions you might have. I am sick and tired of rpm dependencies and I have no idea if I'm ready to try Debian since I don't want to risk losing my Windows partition at this time. Anyone in SoCal want to buy my copy of SUSE8.0 Personal?

Beware of Conectiva... It's a RH based Brazilian distro. It's good for novice (not so as Mand). It's not bad, though, but if you're tired of RPM dependencies, get Debian or Slackware.

I vote Suse8 Prof. . . . . . its so easy to install and unistall ....

RPM is not the problem. you can always download the tar balls and do the installation by your own.....

With connectiva you have the same frontend for managing rpm's like in debian - synaptic.
The keyword here are frontend and rpm - you still have the same troubles with dependencies like anywhere else.
If you are in Brasil go for it - screw anything else; you can always download whatever you need.
If you are really sick and tired of rpm's go debian or compile yourself.
But you will have some fun either way.
