You should compare the result you get using md5sum with the one you can get from MD5SUM file in ftp directory you have the image from. The sums should be identical. If they aren't it's a wrong image (and probably a transmission error).
Have you checked what is the label of your disk? It seems unlikely, but your burning program may be changin it. And cd no 2 is not bootable (I think so), so make sure that it wasn't set to be bootable.
go to RedHats dowload site they have the checksum listed also a neat little cd test boot from CD#1
at the promt type in >linuxmedia check< it will prompt you to insert the disk and it will scan and verify all disks
