Changing the look of the Trash Bin

I'm running Mandriva, and i'm curious to know how I can change the look of the Trash Bin so that when there's something in the Trash Bin, the Trash Bin icon changes to that of it being full like that of Windows XP, Mac, etc.

The trash bin works the same on Linux as it does on mac and windoze. If you move something into it, the icon should change. What desktop eviroment are you using?

I'm running KDE 3.3. Any suggestions on any background theme that I could use to fix it?

Try changing your icon theme and then dragging something into the wastebin to see if that makes a difference.

You do it from the Look & Feel (Appearance & Themes) section in the kde control panel (or "configure your desktop" on the mandrake menu under the system section). You have to note that if you use the delete option, the file does not go to the trash bin, its deleted for good. You need to use the move to wastebin option if you are unsure about permanently deleting files.
