Chakra Linux

hey guys

ok basically ive decided to download and give chakra a try to experience "archlinux" the simple way, considering chakra is appearently arch + kdemod with a graphical installer

and ill let that be my decision on weather i want to try archlinux itself or not

But im curious, how similiar is chakra to archlinux, is it truely just a cover, or are there some major differences, major changes, bug fixs, is it rolling release like arch, does it use the same pacman setup, etc

im curious how similiar it really is

If you're trying Arch for the first time, then in my opinion, starting from scratch and using the Arch Beginner's Guide is an important part of the experience:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners'_Guide

Your questions about Chakra could have been easily answered by reading the project FAQ's:

http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index...sked_Questions

Chakra does not use the Arch repositories. Chakra is not "Arch with a graphical installer." Chakra is a separate project or "fork" from Arch.

Arch is not really difficult to install but you must read the instructions first — make notes if necessary! — or you will get lost.
