Dear All,

I am installing centos 5.5 64bit version but when I boot my server through DVD it asks to select language used throughout the installation and after that it asks to select keyboard language for this installation. After that it asks to select media type which contains media to be installed and options are as follows.

1. Local CD ROM
   NFS Image
   FTP
   HTTP

when I select local CD ROM it says "Unanble to find any device of type needed for this installation type. Would you like to manually select driver or use driver disks"

Anybody please suggest solution of this problem.

Only a couple of suggestions, verify the checksum of the media and if that's ok, try another cd/dvd rom drive

Post your hardware specifications. How much memory is installed in this PC? It might be a bad DVD but it also could be a software bug.

If you have more then >=4GB of RAM try limiting the amount of memory with the mem kernel option. At the boot prompt typin:
linux mem=2048M
