I have run all the Mandrake update servers and I am not able to update. I then tried to access them all via a browser and the only server that answeared was the czech one:
The Mandrake 10.0 servers are currently down (info obtained from www.urpmi.org/easyurpmi) - I had the same problem - got around it by updating to Cooker.
If you decide to do the same, please be aware that cooker programs are unstable and your system may not work - although mine is fine.
That's possible, but you'll have to remove as much of it as you can first. I just made an updated list with easyurpmi, but quickly changed that from the cooker sources that were proposed to official instead. Be sure to add the updates as a source and you'll likely be fine.
BTW, can you access Gnome now? What's messed with it. May be a config. I updated last week and opted to accept an updated config file instead of using the one I had and it killed my booting to init5. Had to manually edit the file to fix my boo boo. (was too sleepy to click NO)
