Can't see Hebrew fonts under Gentoo

Hebrew fonts cannot be displayed! And Gentoo insists not to show them.

I have already set my XKB mapping to include both us and il keyboards. But still it doesn't write anything - or show anything for that matter in hebrew. What do I do?

The solution is to download a package called "culmus" and add a font path... If you ever have problems with hebrew here (one or maybe two people?) that's the solution.
