This sounds like a bios issue. The computers bios has to recognize the drive as a DVD drive and some PIII mobos did not have a bios that recognizes DVD drives, they do see an optical drive but the only optical drive that they have a "definition" for is a CD-ROM I would guess that this is whats happening to you. If you have the CD's you should be able to install from them if not, and it sounds like you only have the DVD, you may try installing on you P4 machine first then setting it up as a NFS server and serving out the DVD from there. To do that you need a network between the two computers than follow what I have posted here (
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...highlight=suse) it's a great workaround for the problem your having as well as for installing on many machines at the same time.
