Getting this while trying to install modem driver from tgz file [root@localhost Intel-v92ham-453-M91]# make ham
Module precompile check Current running kernel is: 2.4.21-0.13mdk /lib/modules... autoconf.h exists diff: /boot/vmlinuz.autoconf.h: No such file or directory autoconf.h matches running kernel diff: /boot/vmlinuz.version.h: No such file or directory As far as /boot/vmlinuz.autoconf.h is this a directory for some reason I don't have.Trying to install this driver and all seems to go well except this and when I boot the system up I get failure when starting ham boot. during the boot up. Can someone explain this to me and what I have to do to fix the problem Running mandrake 9.1 Thank You |
Not sure how to fix it with Mandrake, but it sounds like you do not have the kernel installed (that is the location it is looking for). I know how to install the kernel with SuSE, but other than that I have only used RH 9.
If it is not obvious from the manual or help files how to install the kernel, I am sure there are lots of people who can help with Mandrake...right?? |
