Post Best linux distro for Flash Designer.

Hi All! Hope this thread finds you well
First of all, thank you for taking the time entering this post and helping me choose wich linux distro suits better for my Notebook.

First, let me tell you that i can't work without the Adobe CS Tools. Flash being the most needed one, but also i work with Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.

I hate windows and want to switch to Linux (i've already tried it several times and love it), but i don't know wich linux distro to choose.

Here i'm attaching my hardware specs and hopefully i can run a VM or something like that to run the adobe cs, and work seamlessly between linux and windows apps? Please let me know!

Processor: Intel Core i5-2450M @ 2.50Ghz x64
RAM: 4GB
VGA: Intel HD Graphics 3000 (onboard)

Thank you!!!
Cheers,

The Adobe products are known to not run very well, if at all, on Linux, using the Wine application layer, so most likely you will come down to use Windows in a VM for your complete workflow. If that is the case I would not recommend to switch to Linux at all, especially if this is a machine you have to rely on for your work.

May not be what you want to hear, but for your use-case the best OS is actually Windows, at least until you are able to replace at least a part of the tools you use with programs that have Linux versions.

Not only this, but the world is moving away from Flash to the HTML5 standard for embedded media.

Linux is not the right tool for your work requirements, in my opinion.

Linux is not a "free version of Windows for people who hate Windows." It has its own applications to perform the same tasks as Windows/Mac software, but I would not rely on this at the professional level if 100% cross-platform compatibility is required.

I say this from job experience in publishing collaborating and sharing documents with other Adobe CS users. I dual-boot with Windows for this purpose.

Oh yes - Linux is the best outlayered os as of move-design like flash/vlan/slanb etc.
You do not need wine or any other emulator
