Best distro for Pentium S 200MHz, 24MB RAM

I know this is an often repeated question in its different variations, but I've already tried Slackware 10 and Vector, and *tried* to do DSLinux (which I couldn't get to install to the HDD), but they were all either too slow, too big, or too difficult. (I'm building this computer for a non-techie person.) I need to be able to install software and do everything from the GUI (word processing, the web, and email, mainly). I have a 10GB HDD, a floppy drive, a CDROM drive, and a DVD drive that I can use to install it.

What's your preference?

I look forward to your responses.

Really Slack not working ? Try fluxbox, not gnome or kde. It is really fast. I have it on 166Mhz,64MB.

Slack should work if properly configured, but 24M is pretty skimpy in the RAM department. I think your problem would be improved by adding a decent amount of RAM to the system.

Thanks for the replies! I really love Slack, so naturally it was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately, the SIMM slots are maxed out. (No DIMMs.) I'd go for blackbox, but I don't know how to configure it so it would be easy to use for my newbie friend. Also, I need a lightweight but user-friendly internet browser; Mozilla and even firefox are too heavy. I've been tinkering with XFCE on it, but it's too slow. What do you think I should do?

Thanks.
