Lightbulb Best distro for a laptop?

I hope i get an onslaught of responses from this one. I'm gonna put linux on my laptop and was wondering if any of you guys have any preferences as far as a distro goes. Any features, downpoints, etc....... This will be my primary wireless/war driving machine. I've done debian already and that got tiresome. Any suggestions, let me know. Thanks to all in advance.

Someone posted this same question a couple days ago..

Check out before you buy one. Some manufactures like to use supported hardware... others don't.... Buying the latest/greatest may not work since you'll have to wait for Linux to catch up.

I've had great luck with RedHat 8.0 on a Toshiba 1410
