Basic firewall requiredfor Gentoo?

I have a doubt. Is a firewall really required in Gentoo Linux because I am not running any services like HTTP, FTP or any other servers. Will I need a firewall?

If yes, anybody knows how to set up a basic firewall for Gentoo and how to obtain it or at least point me to some documentation?

Thanks.
