Question Bad magic number in disk label

Hi, I'm can't boot cdrom to install Linux-Mandrake corporate server 1.0. I had downloaded the cd image (.iso file) from the web and burned it into a cd.

When I try boot cdrom, the following error msgs appears...

Bad magic number in disk label
Can't open disk label package
Evaluating: boot cdrom

Can't open boot device

The same problem occured when I tried installing debian GNU/Linux.

How can I solve this? Did I missed out something? LIke setting up the machine or what? Please advice.

I'm using Sun UltraEnterprise2 running Solaris 8.

Where did you download it from? And did you check the MD5SUM numbers on it?

I went to linuxiso.org and the only corporate server 1.0 that I saw there was for Intel processors which won't work with your Sun box. There may be others that I didn't see, though .

Talking

I downloaded the iso from a mirrior site in Singapore. Its for Sparc. Actually, I'd experienced the same problem with the debian GNU/Linux for Sparc.

I went to LInuxiso.org. I realised I have burned the iso file onto the cd instead of the accessible files & diectories. My mistake.

Will try to brun it again...

ok I've burned it correctly this time, I hope...

But it still won't boot!!! The same error occurs. I tried creating a boot floppy so that I can boot from it. The same error occured.

I'm out of ideas...maybe I should change to another distribution instead? But that will take me another day just to download and burn into cd...

Anyone out there? Please advise.
