Artistic Linux

I've converted my uncle to Linux, and he's ready to chuck windows out the window

But I know what kind of Linux he's looking for on his laptop.

He's looking for a really creative, stable, artistic, graphically sweet version of linux.

He's got 256mb ram so I hope that won't be a big issue.

He wants to play dvd's, and take snapshots of the dvd's while they are playing.

He wants to be able to use word docs from his old windows to his new linux.

He's tired of blue screens and crashes and lost data.

So if you've found a linux that fits this criteria, please post.

Thanks

Any distro can do this if you install the right applications. I personally recommend OpenSUSE 10.2, Kubuntu 6.10 and Mandriva 2007.

I wanted to try Elive, cuz my uncle was so addicted to the wicked themes and wallpapers.

But it has a super slow download server (3kb/s)

So it took me two days to download, and just before it was 75% done. It froze on me.

Firefox download manager froze.

So there goes that out the window.

If you can wait a few days, I'm downloading it through a torrent and then it'll take about another day to have it hosted on Mediafire.com
I hope you can wait that long, because the download from mediafire should be as fast as your download will support. Please reply if you can wait that long, and I really hope that you can because this distro looks really nice. Glad to help
