Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

any recomendations to downgrade GCC 2.96 to 2.95?
Hi you folks!
i going into the nightmare of downgrading the gcc 2.96 which ships the red hat 7.2 to 2.95 , because 2.96 esentially stinks and doesn't work for real things. so before deeping into that sea of sh*t i would like some recomendations (i.e: bring food, water, morphine, etc.)
Thx

very not true. Need to use RedHat 7.2 update for gcc, and keep 2.96, otherwise you'll get introuble. I'd rather try gcc3 instead of 2.95

I use 2.96 (and 2.95 and 3). It's working OK.
But if you'd like to downgrade... Compile it from source. It's easy (well, but you need to have a working version..).
