I'm using ncurses to configure my kernel, but like, it's a draaaagggg ... I'd really like to get moving to the more exciting parts of installing Gentoo. Sooo ... since Gentoo actually mentioned an auto-configuration utility in the manual, genkernel, I thought I'd use it for now, but I would like to save what I have configured so far so I can compile a custom kernel later. I've followed the online guide up to this point - what files should I back up to keep my incomplete configuration?
So ... you've picked a source-based meta-distro, but configuring a kernel is a drag.
Hmmmmmm ....
I wonder what other aspects of gentoo you would consider "exciting".
Save the .config - come back to it when you're ready.
