266MHz, 128MB RAM, 4GB HD
Will Vector run alright on such a low end laptop? I'm doing some experiments for school and heard that Ubuntu and Vector are the ways to go for poorer hardware as long as I run a lightweight desktop manager like Fluxbox or XFCE.

Also are either of those desktop managers installed on Ubuntu?

I run Vector 4.3 on a PentiumPro 200 with 128 megs of ram just fine, using fluxbox.

yes vector will run nicely on there. I run it on an old Toshiba Satellite notebook.. Pentium MMX 200MHz, 32MB RAM 2GB HDD. The extra RAM will be your biggest friend and it should run nicely. :)
