2.6 kernel - which dist to chose?
I'm looking for a dist where I can get the 2.6 kernel kde 3.2 or gnome 2.6 with some other new stuff. I have been looking around and the only thing i've found is mandrake 10.0 but I don't really want to try that since I didn't like 9.2 very much. Is it worth it?

I see you have slack 9.1 - I'm running 2.6.5 no problem at all. Why not just use that?

you will probably have to wait or to install it by yourself, i am running 2.6.5 but without gnome or kde, just my blackbox window manager and fluxbox... I compiled my kernel and to get kde 3.2 on slackware swaret does the job, but you have to go current .

Suse 9.1 comes out beginning of May. Also Gentoo can have all of these.

yea, gentoo and slack, read above posts

Overclockix 3.4 is using the 2.6.1 kernel, Gnome 2.4, and all the usual Overclockix tweakage by deafualt, also it has scripts to install nvidia and ati 3d drivers automatically..also Knoppix 3.4 C't is rather pimp....2.6.3 version of the kernel by default..

Thank you all. i think I try overclockix but if that doesn't work it's back to slackware and a kernel upgrade

Mandrake has the 2.6.3 kernel from Mandrake Cooker. Or simply hand compile the kernel into whichever distro you are using.
