X11 Laptop screen problem

Hi all!

Usually I manage to find solutions to my problems using Google (and often I end up here) but this time I am helpless.

Few days ago I installed Debian with Gnome on Compaq 6715b laptop. It has ATI Radeon X1200 video card. I installed fglrx drivers from test repository (at the moment 9-2-2).
Everything is working fine (3d/compiz/etc.) except for one thing.

When I plug in or plug out laptop's power cable, screen turns off. Computer keeps working but the screen goes black and to get it working again I have to use Ctrl+Alt+F2 and then Alt+F7.

This problem happens every time I connect or disconnect power cable.

Here is my xorg.conf: http://pastebin.com/f3df2cd3e
And xorg log file: http://pastebin.com/fba304bf

Please help!

there are many ACPI events triggered when actions like closing the lid, removing the power-chord happens.
The list of all these is in /etc/acpi/events

Check what is the one which is creating a problem and disable it appropriately.

Well, I figured it out but it is hard to find the right file for that action. Actually even after I uninstalled acpi it still did what it did before.

I will try to find it.

Even deleted acpi folder from acpi and rebooted. Nothing changed. Still working.

It may still be taking up default actions.
Can you stop acpid ?

either kill it by PID from ps -fe
or stop the service.

Something tells me from inside that this is the ACPI event issue.

Also,
can you check the gnome-power-preferences to check the screen dimming property in case of
AC plug removal and running in batteries ?
