X, starting programs in full-screen

Hi there,

I am running Slackware 13.1 on my main machine. I recently bought Guitar Pro 6 and I wanted to install it. It runs, yes, it wanted me to install gksu. I didn't want to, so I installed minimal Ubuntu as VM. In the VM I installed only X, gksu and a few libs.

So, now I want to start Guitar Pro 6 in full-screen mode.Is there any way? Perhaps with a WM?
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most X programs allow for some standard X options including "-geometry" which allows you to specify the size of a window on open. I don't know your Guitar program so don't know if it allows for this or not.

A good description of X geometry can be found at the link below:

You may be able to do "man X" to see the man page on your system.

Hmm, I already had the same idea but unfortunately it is an closed source guitar tab emulator written in QT. And as far as I know, programs have to set the window size and position in the source code.
So I thought it might work with a Window Manager that does the work for me but I couldn't find programs like that start my program and resize it. :/
